Welcome back to Macaroni Kid College Park-East Point-Morrow. This month is flying by - as we've only got two more weeks left in May! Our Clayton and Fulton county kids will be out of school very soon. So, that means now's the perfect time to make sure your child is signed up for summer camp. Macaroni Menu: Basil Shrimp Pasta


Serves 6   Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
8 oz box of your favorite pasta… I used thin spaghetti. Angel hair would be great too!
1-1/2 cups of cherry tomatoes, halved
3 teaspoons olive oil
1-1/2 lb fresh medium shrimp, peeled, dev-eined and tails removed
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons chopped basil
 
1. Cook pasta as directed ...

Macaroni Made: Pipe Cleaner Butterflies


My son got a butterfly garden for his birthday, and we loved watching the caterpillars eat, form a chrysalis and turn into beautiful butterflies.  Here's an easy craft to do with the kids when it's raining or if it's too hot!  Make it a learning craft by reading Eric Carle's Very Hungry Caterpillar or Deborah Heiligman's From Caterpillar to Butterfly (both available onamazon.com).

You'll Need:
Construction Paper or colored card stock
Pipe cleaners
Markers, crayons or anything else you want to use ...

The Spring Open House culminates the nine-month instructional period for Ballethnic Academy participants - from preschool to high school pupils. Students will perform classic ballet, jazz and modern dance, as well as African and other ethnic dance forms.

Think you know the real story behind the huffing and puffing? Think again! In this revealing, no-squealing adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s popular book, Alexander T. Wolf finally has a chance to tell his side of the story. He only wanted a cup of sugar and he had a cold. For years we have only known this story from the pigs’ point of view. Now, Mr. A. Wolf explains what really happened to those houses made of straw, sticks, and bricks and the three little pigs that lived in them.
